Forth of July in Port O'Connor

I actually took this picture right before we stalled for an hour in the middle of the Ocean!

These are the boats we spent all weekend on!

Our Flag cake we made, it was delicious!

This Forth of July was particularly fun! We have 15 people staying in a four bedroom house, so it was nice and cozy, lots of bonding time. Chase's uncle Kirk and Aunt Lorie are nice to have us all down, we always have fun when we are with them!

My favorite part of the whole weekend was when we all pulled up on to the beach and just hung out in water and played horse shoes on the beach (I found out that I am horrible at horse shoes!). I was honestly just so excited to finally be on a beach. Every year Chase tells me we are going to get to go the beach, but it rarely happens happens because we usually end up catching so many fish. I have come to love fishing with Chase but I always love the beach.

My other favorite part of fourth of July in Port O'Connor is the incredible fireworks show that we get to watch from the Laguarta's neighbors house. Every year they throw a big party and even though we do not know many people, we always have a great time. The show would definitely not be complete without the comments from the Laguarta family on every single firework. Overall is was great weekend I only wish we could spend more time in Port O'Connor.

  2. Chase & Merrill: Sounds like you guys are becoming the international travels from Texas. Glad you are having fun and experiencing all that is Chile. Things have been pretty boring here in Houston and in POC. Fishing is still not that great since there has been zero rain in POC since about March. Can only assume the fishing has been so bad because of the drought. Have only limited out on reds twice this summer, while typically I can get Lori, Ross and Marshall catching limits several times per summer, while I usually manage to limit out most anytime I want, but such is fishing. The trout fishing has been at least average if not above average this summer so we at least get some fish to eat. Hope all is well and keep working on the Spanish. Hope you both continue to have fun and we certainly miss you both. By the way, Ross has a girl friend, Elizabeth, which is something new and different. They are VERY similar being both very outgoing and fun. Take care and God bless you both! Uncle K
